I just don’t have all that agency nonsense, like the overheads and the not-knowing-who-you’re-going-to-speak-to-when-you-next-call-the-agency thing. You’ll always speak directly with me. How I design websites

Establish Intention

To be able to design an effective website, I start by discussing with you what you need the website to do. It could be a basic site that enables you to test demand in a given market, an informative site that gives your audience all the information they need in an engaging way, or it could be an e-commerce website enabling customers to search for, and purchase, your product or service. Market Research

Once the intention is established, I carry out market research into your competitors. I like to get a clear understanding of who else your intended audience will be looking at when they are trying to decide who to use, or buy from.

Design

The website design process starts by creating three design concepts for you to choose from. To give the website context, this design stage can also include other items such as logo design and packaging design. If other communications are to be created, we can also look at the overall brand design. Once the three design concepts have been created, I will discuss them with you face to face, taking on board any comments or feedback you may have.

Build and Security

I build websites using WordPress and something called the Divi theme. This means the end result is always easy to use, simple to update, secure and highly adaptive to future changes, whether they are done by me, you, or another designer. I can also provide hosting for your website, complete with SSL Security Certificate to show visitors your site is secure, so you’ll be trusted by visitors and liked by search engines such as Google.

Development and Testing

Development of the website is done together with you, giving you endless opportunities to make changes and adjustments before the site goes live. Also before it’s launched, it is put through rigorous testing, making sure everything works and looks perfect across all devices, like this:

Support

After your website is launched I’m there to lend a hand, offer support or talk you through how make updates yourself. Myself or one of my colleagues will be available on the phone Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm and you can send us an email at weekends. If it’s urgent we usually get the problem solved within 24 hours, no matter what time you get in touch.
